Tasks to Complete July 2006 - June 2007
Administration & Communication:
- Maintain Commission office - Ongoing, through 12/06
- Downsize to one office & surplus or transfer office furniture July, 2006
- Close Commission office & liquidate or "gift" remaining office furniture - December, 2006
- Transfer office files & records to MHS - December, 2006
- Contine the archiva process for Commission's web site - December, 2006
- Complete obligations outlined in Transition Plan - October/December, 2006
- Print and distribute two “journal notes” newsletters – July and October/November, 2006
- Distribute periodic list-serve updates – Ongoing through Decemer, 2006
- Communicate with regional comissions and tribal governments, and attend critical local meetings - Provide Ongoing Updates
- Continue to communicate as necessary with the interagency Bicentennial Focus Team - Ongoing through December, 2006
- Continue to stay in communication with the Commission's Executive Committee as necessary to conduct the business of the Commission - Ongoing through December, 2006
- Continue statewide Public Relations/Publicity efforts - Ongoing through December, 2006
- Supervise summer intern conracted to develop Commission's Legacy Document funded by NPS CCS Grant - July, 2006
- Oversee final formatting and distribution of Commission's Legacy Document funded by NPS CCS Grant - August through November, 2006
Financial:
- Continue as appropriate to market the Senate Legacy Bronze Art "maquettes" in an effort to raise funds for casting and installation expenses – Ongoing through December, 2006
- Work to finalize outstanding NPS CCS Pass-Thru Grants 0 Ongoing through December, 2006
- Work to finalize outstanding Project, Program and O&P Grants – Ongoing through December, 2006
- Monitor sales and revenue for Bicentennial License Plates – Ongoing through December, 2006
- Coordinate with Society's Business Office to ensure adequate fund balance and appropriate disbursement of Dec. 31, 2006 cash balances - December, 2006
Planning:
- Continue to work cooperatively to coordinate and support project implementation efforts of regional commissions, Montana Tribal Tourism Alliance and agencies – Ongoing through December, 2006
- Continue to assist with coordination efforts of Discovery Expedition of St. Charles at Montana venues – July through August, 2006
- Work closely to coordinate and support final planning efforts of "Clark on the Yellowstone" National Signature Event - Ongoing through July, 2006
- Continue to work with the National Park Servic,e Montana's regional commissions, and the remaining 6 Corps II host communities to facilitate planning details – Ongoing
- Communicate and coordinate with the Blackfeet Tribe to prepare for their proposed "Lewis and Clark in Blackfeet Country" commemorative event on July 26-29, 2006 - July, 2006
Education & Research:
- Support and facilitate any wrap-up work of the Commission's Education Committee
- Respond to education-related inquiries from students and teachers – Ongoing
Main Goals for "Next Year (7/1/06 - 12/31/06):
- Supervise and assist summer intern contracted to develop Commission’s Legacy Document funded by NPS CCS Grant – July & August, 2006
- Oversee final formatting and distribution of Commission's Legacy Document funded by NPS CCS Grant - August through November, 2006
- Work with committee and Commission to secure a suitable "home" for the Commission's anticipated "legacy grants program" after December, 2006 - October/December, 2006
- Coordinate with the state Commission's Executive Committee to facilitate possible use of ending cash balance for Senate Art Project if that becomes an option - December, 2006
- Finalize interpretive sign inventory with MTRI agencies and private sector groups - August, 2006
- Complete any outstanding grant reports and paperwork - Ongoing through November, 2006
- Continue to work with Montana Indian tribes, regional commissions and agencyes to coordinate any necessary archival processes as may be requested and are appropriate - Ongoing through Decemer 31, 2006
- Continue planning and support partnership with the "Clark on the Yellowstone" National Signature Event in mid-July, and Montana's remaining "Significant Event" with the Blackfeet tribe in late July, 2006 - Ongoing through December, 2006
- Coordinate with the remaining 6 Montana Corps II host communities and National Park Service - Ongonig through August, 2006
- Support the Montana Historical Society and Senate Art Advisory Committee for the Senate Legacy Art project's completion - Ongoing through Decemer, 2006
- Work in partnership with the Motnana Historical Society for an unveiling of the new Senate legacy bronze art piece in the Fall of 2006 - Ongoing through December, 2006
