BLACKFOOT RIVER CHAPTER December 6, 2001
The Blackfoot River Chapter of the Lewis & Clark Trail Heritage Foundation had our fall meeting December 6th. It was hosted by Marilyn & Kieth Peterson at their Emily A Bed &Breakfast with nine key members attending.
Accomplishments of the past year were reviewed. The Chapter sponsored 10 events, most of which featured a Nationally acclaimed expert about some aspect of the Lewis and Clark expedition. (check them out on our website)
Al Cluck, Marilyn Peterson, Colleen Nickolson, Pauline Kvamme, Addrien Marx and Ron Cox deserve much credit for successfully presenting the interesting, informational and enjoyable programs in 2001. It will be a hard act to follow.
The group had a general discussion about future chapter activities. The next undertaking will be an effort to increase involvement by people in the Lincoln and Ovando areas. A meeting in Ovando on January 24 was discussed.
Other items discussed included more effort for recruiting members, a need for fund raising, forming a study group, collecting items
for a library, identifying and fostering local experts, providing field trips, publishing a map, develop a self-guided tour, coordinate
with Blackfoot Challenge L&C Group, and focus on activities rather than meetings.
Anyone wishing to offer any suggestions, or has questions about the L&C Blackfoot River Chapter can reply to this message or call Ron Cox at 677-3398.
