Chapter and RBC Information

As the 200-year observance of the Lewis & Clark Expedition nears, groups and committees are joining together to plan and prepare. One such group is the Lewis & Clark Trail Heritage Foundation, founded in 1969 to further the education and interpretation of the trail. Eight local chapters of this foundation presently exist in Montana, providing a very valuable "bank" of Lewis & Clark knowledge. Another network of groups were encouraged to form by the state Bicentennial Commission. These county, or multi-county planning and coordinating groups will interact closely with both the Lewis & Clark Trail Heritage Foundation Chapters and the state Commission to strive for statewide coordination. Listed here is information about the Chapters and Regional Bicentennial Commissions (RBC's).

Lewis & Clark Trail Heritage Foundation Chapters
This is a list of the Chapters in Montana that are a part of the Lewis & Clark Trail Heritage Foudation. The Foundation was started in 1969 and its mission statement reads: The mission of the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation is to stimulate public appreciation of the Lewis and Clark Expedition's contributions to America's heritage, and support education, research, development and preservation of the Lewis and Clark experience. This list of Montana Chapters includes the contact names for each Chapter.

Regional Bicentennial Commissions (RBC's)
This is a list of the Regional Bicentennial Commissions that are formed or in the process of forming around the state. These RBC's are made up of individuals, communities, and counties around Montana that are interested in Lewis & Clark and working together towards preparations and events for the Bicentennial. These RBC's, sanctioned by their respective city or county governing bodies, are an effective way to coordinate various local interests and individuals as well as a great way to get involved in the Bicentennial. This list of RBC's includes the contact names for each. Minutes of combined RBC's and Montana Tribal Lewis & Clark representatives can be reviewed here as well.
